Function

As a trainee, from the 1st of February 2025 you will follow an intensive 18-month program. Under the guidance of senior and medior consultants, you will work on a minimum of two and a maximum of four projects. What kind of projects will you work on with your fellow trainees? Well, for example.

  • Preparing and carrying out modifications to nuclear facilities;
  • Effects of radiation exposure on humans and environmental studies;
  • Perform safety and risk analyses for nuclear facilities;
  • Supervise licensing processes for radioactive waste processing.

You will also spend an average of one day a week on education and training (e.g. radiation protection, nuclear technology and project management). You will also get a personal coach, who will look at your ambitions and development with you. After 18 months, you will be ready for ‘the next step’: a suitable position within the C&S business unit or beyond, so that you can quickly grow into a medior consultant, project manager or engineer.

Profile

  • Master working and thinking level in the direction of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, technical business administration, physics, mathematics, aerospace engineering (if your study is not in this direction, but you are interested in the nuclear sector, this traineeship is also an option for you;)
  • A maximum of two years of work experience; (we are looking for graduates who want to start their career with us and the development you experience in the trainee programme is geared to this. If you have more experience, we advise you to apply for another position within our company);

Team

NRG’s trainee program is coordinated from NRG’s Consultancy & Services (C&S) business unit. As a trainee, you will work under the guidance of C&S consultants at both NRG sites, in Arnhem and Petten, and at our clients’ premises. You will work within different teams and we will challenge you by working on complex Cases (brainteasers).

  • We start with an 18-month contract (for the duration of the traineeship), but we see a long-term future with you. About six months before the end of your traineeship, you will start applying internally and there are many opportunities for personal development as well as growth opportunities in salary;

  • 8.3% end-of-year bonus and 8% holiday allowance;
  • Pension with ABP; NRG pays 70% of the premium;

  • Each quarter consists of one themed course/training and various regularly recurring elements such as working on cases, intervision and coaching;

In addition, you will draw up a personal development plan with your coach and training sessions may be offered in the areas of communication, advisory skills, consulting skills, impact and presentation skills.
