(Junior) Reliability Consultant

(Junior) Reliability Consultant

Function

As a reliability consultant, you play an important role in complex technical projects, including new builds, for sectors such as: nuclear, conventional industry, renewable energy where safety, reliability and authorisation are essential. Our area of expertise includes:

  • Risk analysis of technical (adaptation) projects;
  • Probabilistic safety analyses QRA;
  • Safety case and reliability analyses RAMS;

The tools we use are: HAZOP / HAZID, FME (C) A, RCA, Fault Tree Analysis, Event Tree Analysis and many other cross forms of these techniques, developed to meet client needs and comply with the given regulations. Software: Risk Spectrum and Fault tree plus.

As a reliability consultant, you have a critical attitude, a proven technical background to understand complex systems and good technical judgment, you are proactive, skilled in acquisition, networking and stay alert to market needs, trends and developments in the area of interest.

Projects are often multidisciplinary and characterised by a complex interplay of different stakeholders. With your solid technical expertise, you are a natural sparring partner for our customers’ specialists. You have experience with risk and safety analysis methods and are able to apply them. We expect clearly written reports that correctly reflect the approach and results of the analyses. Finally, we expect you to be a good communicator, dedicated team player who strives to deliver high-quality results within a given budget and on time.

Profile

  • A bachelor or university degree in a technical field (e.g. mechanical/electrical engineering, chemical engineering, physics);
  • You have at least 2 years of relevant work experience in a technical environment and/or experience with safety and risk analyses;
  • You have experience in project work, complemented by project management skills (e.g. PRINCE2 or IPMA);
  • Experience in the nuclear industry is a plus, but not essential.

Team

The Risk and Reliability team is responsible for providing both qualitative ((ops) hazard analysis) and quantitative safety analysis(PSA) to ensure nuclear safety and safe operation, licence application and safe design change.

The goal of nuclear safety is:

  • Protect humans and the environment from the adverse effects of ionising radiation by (IAEA Fundamental Safety Objective):

Controlling human exposure to radiation and discharges to the environment;

  • Minimising the likelihood of accidents;
  • Reducing the consequences of accidents.

We are responsible for providing and updating Probabilistic Safety Analyses throughout the nuclear reactor life cycle. We also support the high-risk conventional sector. As a junior, you will have the opportunity to learn all the tools by applying them in projects and doing research. You will be coached by it colleagues and discover what your preferences are.
