Junior Consultant Decommissioning - Waste Management

Position

In this position, you will contribute to the reliable deployment of nuclear technology and the responsible management of the waste produced in the process. Here, it is important to predict the behaviour of nuclides and materials under different conditions. In doing so, you will use thermodynamic models developed within NRG.

Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or natural sciences, e.g. chemistry, environmental sciences, process technology or applied physics;
  • You are analytical;
  • You have experience in modelling chemical and transport processes (pre);
  • You are results-oriented and intrinsically motivated to learn during projects;
  • Sense of consultancy; Good communication in word and writing and social skills.

Team

You will work within the Decommissioning, Waste management & Disposal (DWD) team. Our experts have different backgrounds but have one thing in common; together we work on safe and reliable solutions for radioactive waste streams and the decommissioning of nuclear facilities. The issues within the team are very diverse; ranging from research into the stability of waste packages, developing new methods for separating and characterising waste to preparing decommissioning plans or cost estimates for decommissioning. We offer complex and varied work with plenty of opportunities for advancement. Sparring with colleagues is a matter of course for us; our door/TEAMS are always open.
